Music for a Rainy Day

If you know me you know that I like some pretty embarassing things. One of the things near the top of the list is Miley Cyrus songs. They're just too damn catchy, but I feel a little ill every time I realize I'm singing "It's a party in the USA." One thing I can admit is just how woeful Miley's voice is - just a level below nails on a chalkboard in my opinion. That's why I'm so happy when far more talented artists cover said songs. For your listening pleasure check out the ridiculous harmonies Kelly Clarkson and her touring mates Jill and Kate add to "The Climb." Happy Saturday!

Kelly Clarkson: "Did You"

I haven't read any of the Twilight children's books, but I hear they're all the rage in the 12-19 year-old white girls with heartache issues demographic. Coincidentally, Kelly Clarkson also appeals to that demographic (and many others), and she really catered to the audience with "Did You." It sounds like a C-level song from Kelly... she undoubtedly went through the motions with this one and cashed the paycheck, because she's way too smart and talented to really care about a song for the New Moon soundtrack... right??

Kelly Clarkson on SNL

Our post about Kelly Clarkson's new album All I Ever Wanted may or may not have been taken down for legal reasons (read: it was taken down for legal reasons), but if you happened to read through the 1500 word song-by-song breakdown, you'd know that one of the best songs on the album is "I Do Not Hook Up." We predicted that it would be the next single off the album, and with this performance of the song last night on SNL, all signs are pointing towards us being right. Naturally. We're ALWAYS right! We could be, like, music and TV executives. Well... we could've been. You know, before we (read: Matt) started giving away free music. Eh, oh well. The satisfaction of being right is good enough for now.

PS. Kelly sang current single "My Life Would Suck Without You" in the 1st spot.
